ARTICLE COPYRIGHT:

The Journal of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine is the official publication of the EAZWV / AAZV, and a flagship journal in the field of Zoological medicine. As an EAZWV member you have full access to all articles published in the Journal.

The Journal is funded through EAZWV membership fees, publication fees, advertising income, and -quite importantly- through non-members purchasing access to individual papers. If papers are uploaded on websites, especially organized file-sharing services such as Research Gate, the material is made free for all, and the Organization loses the income needed to run the journal.  Manuscript submission fees are quite low relative to comparable journals. This is an important member benefit that would need to change if manuscript access fees decline.  While it is the privilege of any author of a paper to share a copy privately with others, each author has signed over copyright to AAZV, and therefore do not have legal rights to share the files publicly through such services as Research Gate. Please remember not to violate the copyright regulations, to protect our communal resource.

About the JZWM

The Journal of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine (JZWM) is considered one of the major sources of information on the biology and veterinary aspects in the field. The Journal evolved from the long history of members producing case reports and the increased publication of free-ranging wildlife papers.

The Journal accepts manuscripts of original research findings, case reports in the field of veterinary medicine dealing with captive and free-ranging wild animals, brief communications regarding clinical or research observations that may warrant publication. It also publishes and encourages submission of relevant editorials, reviews, special reports, clinical challenges, abstracts of selected articles and book reviews. The Journal is published quarterly, is peer reviewed, is indexed by the major abstracting services, and is international in scope and distribution.

Areas of interest include clinical medicine, surgery, anatomy, radiology, physiology, reproduction, nutrition, parasitology, microbiology, immunology, pathology (including infectious diseases and clinical pathology), toxicology, pharmacology, and epidemiology.

The Journal now has a circulation of over 1000. Abstracts from the JZWM are available on the AAZV website and in foreign languages including Arabic, Czech, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
